On yesterday, I met up with Mayesha, a former high school classmate. After chatting and catching up, it was time to KHAPTURE Maya, her 4 year old daughter.

Ms.Maya was wonderful! And this time tomorrow she'll be four NO MORE! Maya will be turning 5 on tomorrow. Thank you Mayesha for allowing me to capture Maya's last Sunday as a 4 year old...LOL!

This is the second eldest of the Q.I.A crew … Isaiah. Isaiah brought it each and every time….like EACH and EVERY time! Like he could be in mid sentence or clowin’ around and soon as the camera went up…he gave me the G.Q. face…lol! He did that enough times to where I decided to give him his on blog entry… lol!

Friday, I tagged along with Ms.Keana (CEO of Keana’s Photography) on a session in Los Angeles. She opted to shoot at a place we’ve passed quite a few times. And each time she would say,”I want to shoot there”. From the street, it looked pretty cool---surprisingly rustic for the part of the city that it’s in, but basically grass and dirt and rocks. Again, from the street and/or from a distance, the location looked pretty cool. But oh…once we passed the rusted chain that roped off the dirt/rock paved entrance; I now believe that location once was a non-profit HABITAT for lizards, bee’s of various sorts, and other yucky loud insects! As we were shooting, I felt like we were being watched by “the man”… as there were 2 or 3 helicopters flying over head. WEIRD!! Whoever closed this non-profit deal left their tractor and other interesting rusted broken wooden items…LOL!! Keana LOVED it!! It took me looking at the pictures to warm up to the idea of loving it too … LOL! Amen, Keana had a way cool client that had way cool kids that took an interest in darn near everything on that lot.

So Glad she "allowed" her brother to get in a few of her shots...LOL!
Autumn wasn't too concern about being ANTM...she was more concerened about being 3 years old in an abandon field that was full of lizards...sticks..bugs...and smells...lol!

Autumn wore many hats on Friday. She was a model. Keana's intern (she carried the CEO's camera bag). And she held my lens. She even took a couple of shots. Not bad for a 3 year old.

Shooting toddlers is ALWAYS interesting. As the photographer, you have to be prepared to utilize everything in your trick bag in order to get a few great shots. Sometimes, that works....and sometimes you have an Isaiah...lol!
The one thing I didn't have in my trick bag was RAIN...lol! The rain held his attention better than I did.
Got a smile... ...I L-O-V-E his cheeks!
What can I say... ...Isaiah did well for a 2 year old. He'll be in front of the lens again in a few weeks as a 3 year old BIG BOY! Look so forward to it!

OK...It seems like forever since I've seen my little friend, Christian. Our "normal" routine when he comes to say helllo is to bring me to current on the current events in his life...lol! And because I know you're wondering: he's still 4 and makes good grades....oh....and can make a mean "C" track in the carpet:)
Mr.Christian was not ready for this here mini session. I threw him off a bit by bringing out the cam and staying INSIDE. Sir.Christian is used to doing our mini sessions OUTSIDE, while we race from the porch to the driveway....lol!

This guy....BRINGS IT on accident, y'all!! In this shot, he was a little annoyed that it took him a few tries to get that foot on the wall. LOL!! This is one of my favs.
Another KHAPTURES moment... we were actually outside to RACE...lol...He was listening (and that right intensely) to how we were going to race after I took this shot.
If I had to give this shot a title...it would be "Something New"... Mr.Christian apparently has never utilized his back pockets...this was was bit much for him....hence the stiff hands...i for one loved the shot.
This is the classic Christian face....YUMMY!!! He's so sweet!

After the above shot... we walked to the porch...I picked him up to give him a hug and to say goodbye...he put his head on my should and was in DREAMLAND!!! LOL!! Straight sleep...mind you in between shooting, we were running, digging, chasing the "pink bouncy ball" all over the place, and it didn't help that we raced until I won....lol!!!

Ok...it's been a minute.... LIFE...let me tell ya... busy...busy!
A few weeks ago I went w/ Ms.KP (my mentor) on a shoot to basically practice shooting with one another. I'm almost always nervous on a shoot and at times shooting with someone like KP can be overwhelming.... she's slamming (her work: keanasphotography.com). So she decided that we should shoot, shoot, and shoot somemore.
This young man, did it for me! He was great.

This guy ... 2 year old Nehemiah ... ... was so not the subject on this Saturday's session. As I was photographing his mommy, I noticed how he was so fascinated with the rocks that surrounded the train tracks we were on. He loved showing them. And I think he was thrilled that Iwas thrilled by his fascination...lol...kids! I have to say that our "rock" bond caused him to "give it to me" (as Ms.KP says) every time I focused the lens on him.

Mr.Nehemiah wasn't too pleased that I asked him to drop the rocks for 4 seconds.
Soon as the rocks were back in hand, he was all smiles.
