Thanksgiving 2010

Saturday afternoon I was off to photograph Bre. Man was it HOT! She's oober adorable, but the 4-year-old in her wasn't too interested in posing for pictures...at least nothing past about 15 minutes. Before I set her free I got some awesome shots.

When I told her I was done she ran over to her grandmother who was watching and waiting patiently nearby. She was relieved! LOL! She rested in her grandmother's arms and I couldn't resist.

I was silently praying that her grandmother didn't get angry and/or ask me not to take her picture. She looked up at me then continued to enjoy her granddaughter. I know she won't regret it!

My Saturday

On Saturday morning/afternoon I photographed a surprise birthday party. The guest of honor will be a glorious 80 years old on the 10th.

Why I Do What I Do

Got a comment this morning that left me stunned. I wasn't expecting it. I mean, Quianna already said that she was please and loved the location, but this morning she added the icing...

"So I'm sitting @ the computer reading the blogs & pictures from Keana Clay & Khedra Gipson & I just begin to cry. These women are sooo talented & just, wow! "What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?" I don't know, but these women do & I'm so blessed to have met them! I hope to one day share with the world ...my pictures & hopefully change someones life, like they have done for me!"

It's statements like this that keep me going. Quianna, I can't wait to see you shoot, shoot and shoot some more. I know you'll be awesome! THANK YOU for the boost. It was much needed.

Unconventional Location

I told Ms. Quianna where our location was. LOL! She called me as she pulled up behind me at the spot. I don't think she thought I meant AS grassy as it actually was. She shared her reaction with me when she saw the place. Not a park at all! All I could do was laugh. Me and my locations. There was grass almost as tall as I am. Not that I'm a giant. After walking so far in I discovered an old busted tractor or some sort. Tree trunks. And a few other things that I couldn't name if I wanted. I LOVED IT! I BELIEVE IT WAS AN ANSWERED PRAYER! But in addition to the things that I loved seeing, there were huge black bees and lizards and there was a flying orange bug that I've never seen before. I smiled through it all and silently prayed that she wouldn't hate me for it. I pray that the results are ALL worth it.

I think it was. I can't wait to take my son here for a session. Quianna, thank you for putting up with me and my location. I truly apprecite you!

I can't wait to get my son over there for a shoot!

The Barajas Familia

I met Martin some time ago, through something that we have in common. Photography. Surprise, surprise, right? Months down the road I photographed his lovely daughter Sam's quinceañera. He and his beautiful wife Maria treated us like family. That's actually the best way to describe it.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to shoot the family. We had a good time! And afterward we ate! I was introduced to a new dish. Chile verde. YUM-MY!

I really appreciate the way that you all have taken us in and SPOILED us. LOL! I look forward to having you all over for dinner, only I won't be the one cooking. LOL! God bless you guys!
