Friday I thought it would be a good idea to introduce my son to origami. I enjoyed that in elementary. He saw a few of the possible creations and wanted to make a pigeon. He wanted to make a pigeon until he watch my lightweight struggle with the crane. LOL! Operation Origami Pigeon became a no-go. One to the planes section of the site. EXCITEMENT! So, we made planes.

...he didn't complain when I had him get dressed at about 9:20 p.m. so that I could take pictures of him...OUTSIDE. He did slide in a question that let me know that he was bored (along with his facial expressions). "Go in the house?" LOL! But before I wrapped it up, here are some of the shots I got of him:
I was going for something a little different. I LOVE it when guys wear blazers, hoodies (or hooded sweat shirts) and baseball caps. It's casual and flavorful. And SO east coast. :D Now, have I ever been on the east coast? Nope. But I love their style nonetheless.
He came across my dog tag with his picture on it and has kinda taken it for his own. He wanted to wear it for the shots.
He was a good sport for the most part. The grass was cold on my barefeet so I obliged his discreet signals to go inside. Thanks for cooperating baby! Mommy loves you!!

I had a blast at the Orange County Fair.
There was even a once in a lifetime experience! I held a snake. WHOA. This one...
See the way it's just laying there?! Creepy. Didn't seem real. But, yeah, it's REAL. Darn thing curled it's tail around my foot before the picture was over. EWW! All in all I had an awesome time! It's been years since I've been to a county fair. Gotta do that more often!

My birthday cake was (and is) SOOOOOOOO DELICIOUS! Sweet potato cake. Yes, you read that right. Sweet potato CAKE. If you know what's good for you, you'd call up Jessye RIGHT this moment and order one. I remember the first time I ever tasted it. Most, perfectly sweet, and oh so yummy. I felt the same way about her pineapple coconut cake, but the sweet potato won me over.
For my mom's birthday we had Jess Cakes' 7-UP cake. My sister called me the next day with my brother and sister-in-law in the background. Wanted to know how much the cake cost because they wanted to order 3 more between the 3 of them. ROFL! There was some threatening going on. My brother thought his wife gave my sister his slice. Ah! It was comedy. That's just how great her cakes are. They cause commotion!
My son went to his first ball game ever today. Dodgers vs Cubs. He was sooooo excited! Not that I blame him. I was excited as well.
He enjoyed himself and that's the news I liked hearing the most. He came home tired and happy.
And at his very first game, the team he was going for won. Go Dodgers! It don't get no better than that!
Today, Dodger game. Tomorrow, swimming lessons. Looks like it's gonna be a great summer!

Yesterday my son and I went to see my cousin off to prom. It's been a VERY long time since I've seen her. I have snapsots of her when she was about a year old. It's was SO good to see her. She's growing into a beautiful young woman.

I was glad that, though I'm practically a stranger she had absolutely NO guards up. She was herself. Her wonderful self.
Her date/boyrfriend, Myron, is a cool dude. Charae is pretty good with this here posing deal. I asked her if she practices in the mirror. She said, "No. I'm just naturally awesome!" LOL!
"Charae. Give me one over your shoulder." BAM!
I'm very glad that I got the chance to be there. Charae, we've GOTTA do this again some time!

It has to be said that it was very hard for me to not blog every single image. There was just so much to see at the museum. So much information to learn. I'd been lazy in the past. Not taking the camera with me. I am glad to have seen Nate and Jaclyn's (of The Image is Found) personal blog. It inspired me to shoot, shoot and shoot some more. Keana, WHAT have you been doing?! What do you mean you don't want to take pictures everywhere you go? I wondered when that changed for me. Once upon a time I DID wanna take pictures of everything. Well, I've carried on in random mode long enough. LOL! On to what you came here for. PICTURES!
He was trying to tell me that something was moving.It was the spout from the water tower. The wind was blowing as it swayed a bit.

There is another great thing that came out of our visit. My son has wanted necklace for quite some time. Something with a charm on it. I was hesitant because...oh, a few reasons. Saturday, he'd stepped away to check out some souvenirs and spotted one with a train on it. So on our way out, we got it. I think it is fitting for his first one. Not gaudy and not something ridiculous. His first piece of jewelry.
I think it has "I'm a boy's boy" written all over it! He loves it! Doesn't want to take it off for any reason.

The reason that I get to celebrate Mother's Day...my wonderful son. Here is the card he got me. This is the first card that I've received from him that wasn't homemade. I LOVE homemade gifts from him.
God bless him! I got some lilies from the world's greatest buddy.

P.S. Yes, I did shoot the lilies on the floor. In order to photograph them on the counter top I would have needed a stool. I believe that people should work smarter, not necessarily harder. LOL!

Because my son loves trains, I decided to take him to the Lomita Railroad Museum late Saturday afternoon. The admission fees are CRAZY low and it's a pretty cool place! Here's a sneak peek. More to come.
I'd plan to visit again some time. Maybe next time with my nephews.
